About me:
I'm 28, and some of my favorite childhood memories are of helping my mother in the kitchen. She started my brother and I on the cooking path as early as she could, with the "here, stir this" school of helping. By the time I was 9, I was sharing dinner duties with my brother. By the time I hit high school, I was cooking for the family every other night! I've always been fascinated with how to make things from scratch; our meals had to be made in 30 minutes or less when I was growing up, so I had to cut corners. Now, I'm looking to learn all the basics; to really get into the art of cooking!

Whole Wheat Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed on Aug. 18, 2008 by Tanya C
Very good pancake recipe. Like others, I substituted 3 Tbsp. brown sugar for the artificial sweetener. The kids loved. Mine made about 16 and kids each ate 2 (3 yo and 5 yo). Will try bananas another time. I added vanilla, wheat germ, and flax seed. Love it that it's healthy and tasty.

Banana Oatmeal Cookies I

These are pretty good. I made them exactly according to the recipe. They turned out very soft and fluffy, cake-like. The cinnamon and cloves compliment the banana flavor. I think raisins would be a better addition than chocolate chips and that is what I will do next time. Another great recipe for my overripe bananas!

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed on Aug. 3, 2008 by DIANNEB1
Wonderful, easy recipe! I made the recipe exactly according to the directions and it turned out great. The meat was sooo tender. I served it over egg noodles and with a side salad and a bottle of red wine. While it's not the prettiest of dishes, it is sure one of the tastiest. I will definitely make this again, only I will add a carton of sliced fresh mushrooms next time.
