Houston, Texas

Named after General Sam Houston, Houston is the largest city in the state of Texas. Other factoids also put the city at the top of the heap: it’s the 4th largest city in the US; the theater district has the second largest number of theater seats in a downtown area; it’s home to the largest medical center in the world—and the city’s temperature really gets up there too. Houstonians take refuge in the 11,000 air-conditioned restaurants, eating out more than any other city’s residents—and for good reason. Houston’s Tex-Mex is about as good as it gets, and there’s a reason people can’t stop talking about Texas BBQ.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed on Sep. 6, 2008 by houstongal
Effortless and very tasty. Instead of olive oil I used 2 tablespoons of butter as another reviewer suggested. This was not greasy at all..read some complaints in reviews. We made this with alfredo sauce and pasta but I REALLY think it would be much better with a tomato based sauce. This chicken would be fabulous for a chicken parmesan dish (or chicken spaghetti)...just top with grated mozzerella/parmesan. We will definitley make this again but with a tomato sauce. It was so easy and allowed plenty of time for clean up while it was baking. I love that!!!!=)Thanx

Cheesy Beef Spirals

Reviewed on Sep. 6, 2008 by mommyluvs2cook
Very cheesey and very good!! I halved this recipe and used fresh mushrooms. Just sauteed them off with butter and threw them in with the beef. Added extra cheese on top. Very simple and tasty!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed on Sep. 6, 2008 by mommyluvs2cook
This was pretty good. After 10 minutes the sauce still had not thickened so instead of overcooked chicken, we had runny sauce. The taste was good though, maybe could have been a little sweeter..but really good. Unlike another reviewer I thought this could have been a little more spicier as well. I almost cut down on the hot sauce...but I'm glad I didn't. If you like "hot" do not cut back...maybe even add more. Overall pretty good!
