I make this recipe about once a week. I marinate the chicken overnight. I omit all the salt as per the recommendation of other reviewers. I replaced the japleno pepper with 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper. To thicken the sauce I saute 1/2 an onion in the butter until translucent before adding the spices. I have found that this recipe tastes better after it has been in the fridge overnight.

This recipe as written is inedible due to the salt content. I suggest reading the other reviews for correct salt quantities.

This was wonderful! I cut down the salt to 1 tsp in the marinade and sauce, and only used 1/2 jalapeno, and it was spicy, but perfect for our taste! It was a big hit, I will be making this again for sure!!

I wish I could give this recipe 4.5 stars instead of 4. It's very delicious, but it wasn't quite mind-blowingly "the best!" This recipe is written very spicy and salty. I reduced the salt to 1 tsp in the marinade, and 1/2 tsp in the sauce. Because I'm a wimp, I used only a quarter of the cayenne and black pepper. A very delicious recipe!

This was fabulous! I've made it three times already. You've definitely got to cut down the salt. I put in 1 tsp for each part and that seemed like enough for me. This was absolutely wonderful...if you like Indian food, you must try this recipe!

I would have given it a 5 if it weren't for the changes. I followed other's advice and decreased the salt; 1 tsp in the marinade and 1/2tsp in the sauce. I used chicken thighs instead of breasts, used olive oil to sautee the spices for the sauce, and used a mixture of 1/2 cup greek yogurt(non-fat) and 1/2 cup half and half for the sauce. Next time I would use the full cup of greek yogurt and omit the half and half and the sauce would still be rich enough. Absolutely delicious!!! I will be making this often.

Unfortunately, I couldn't read the extended reviews on my husband's quirky computer, so I didn't know that I should cut down the salt - WAY too salty. Almost inedible (add a potato if you've already done it). Will try it again with less salt - can see great potential.

This definitely rivals my favorite Indian restaurant in town. I would give it 5 stars, but I made some modifications, and I'm frightened at how salty this would have been without them. I followed the advice of many others and eliminated the salt down to 1 tspn in both the marinade and the sauce. I also used only about 1/2 of the jalapeno so that it wasn't overly spicy. It was still plenty hot. To make this a little bit healthier, I used half n half instead of cream and I used non-fat yogurt. This was still incredibly rich and delicious and I was able to eliminate a lot of the extra fat content. I can't wait to eat the leftovers tonight!

Yum! The first time I made this I followed the recipe exactly. It turned out extremely hot (but delicious). I was the only one that could stomach eating it unfortunately... The second time I made it, I obmitted the cayenne and jalapeno - Very good!! The cumin gave it enough oomph but was able to be devoured by the kids and husband. No leftovers this time. I served it with the Naan (by Mic) and Indian style basmati rice (by Dhan0923) recipes on this website - WOW! What a meal!! One note of advice: Double your recipe - 3 chicken breasts are not enough for 2 adults and 2 small children.

Oh wow this was spicy delicious. I prepared this dish for a get together and used a mixture of chicken thighs and breasts; the guests seemed to prefer the thighs. I doubled the quantity of meat but did not double the marinade or sauce, there was more than enough to go around. In the future, I'll make a double batch and seal-a-meal some of the marinated skewers. I can take a few out before work then just toss them on the grill and whip out the tomato sauce when I get home.

This recipe was very good. I'm sure for some its a 5, but my fiancee and I like a little more spice. It could have been our own fault that it wasn't perfect though. I used to have a huge bottle of Cayenne Pepper, but it was thrown out at some point and I couldn't find it in any of our major grocery stores, so we went without. In the end we added Garam Masala, which was at the store :), and it gave it a little more depth. Our true rating would be 4.5, but since it wasn't quite a 5 for us, we had to round down. We will definitely use this one again.

I thought it was fantastic! I didn't add ANY salt (as per other reviewers suggestions)and it was perfect. (I have NO idea why there is so much salt in the original recipe...???) Served it with basmati rice and a tossed salad. A note: If you are having company you can grill chicken ahead of time and keep warm in oven or even leave in fridge. Just simmer in sauce a little longer. A hit!

I followed the recipe exactly (except I reduced the salt), and I thought the outcome was not good. I would not make this again. Thank you for sharing.
