My fiance and I are HUGE Indian cuisine fans and this recipe has become one of our trademarks. We love making Naan together on rainy days!! We make it as it (except we use a buttered up skillet instead of a grill). Highly recommend this bread to make a truly authentic yummy meal that even my country-livin' meat and potatoes lovin' relatives loved!!

I have never had naan before and I was preparing an Indian meal so I decided to try this recipe. It was delicious and it tasted quite familiar to me although at first I couldn't figure out what it was. Then I remembered - it tasted very similar to the soft pretzel's from the chain Auntie Ann's. So I decided to use this naan dough recipe for pretzel dough instead from now on. After the the 2nd rising, I rolled out the balls of dough into ropes and shaped them into pretzels. I then dipped them in melted butter and sprinkled on some coarse salt, baked at 425 for about 15 minutes. Yummy! Try it!

Great recipe, haven't ever made bread let alone naan. They turned out great. Made with butter chicken. I used my goerge forman grill, only complaint with that is that it took forever grilling one at a time. Will be much easier for those using regular grill.

one of my favorite recipes on the site. Delicious! I easily made this veganize for a potluck by using soymilk and flaxseed egg replacer(1tablespoon ground flaxseed + 3 tablespoons water per egg). I'll make this again and again.

YUM! I just made these and they are SOOOO good! The only change for me was to omit the garlic, and I am without a grill right now, so I baked them at 500*F on a pizza stone for about 3-4 minues each. They are perfect!! Thanks!

Excellent recipe. Extremely simple and easy to make, just like naan is supposed to be.

Varied baking method. Cranked oven up to 500 degrees, lightly buttered top and bottom, placed on baking sheet for 2 minutes on each side and end result was awesome. Next time I'll try using a baking stone as recommended on another site...

This recipe is absolutely wonderful! If you like naan you should definitely try this recipe. It's even better some of the Indian restaurant I've tried. Recommended!

These were OK. Mine looked more like a tortilla than naan though; nothing like the picture. TIP: if you cook them on your stovetop in a frying pan, do NOT set the burner on high, as the directions instruct you to do. That will burn the naan badly!! But overall, the recipe was pretty good. I won't be buying as much of the store-bought stuff in the future. 4 stars. Thanks for posting the recipe.

I made this in my bread machine and only added 3.5 cups of flour and it was AWSOME! They rolled out so nice and thin and the dough rose like crazy! I would even use this to make tortillas...

Delicious! I kneaded in a little garlic, but used the rest in the melted butter that I brushed on top. The dough came out a little tough, probably because I added a bit too much flour.

This was wonderful grilled bread, but it didn't really taste like the naan we get at the restaurant. Still my husband who normally doesn't like bread had 5 pieces so I will definetly make again!

These were nothing like traditional Indian naan bread. Even though it didn't taste like the naan at the Indian restaurant, it was really good. I didn't have a grill, so I used a frying pan, which worked just fine. The thinner you roll it, the crispier it will be. The recipe made 18 pretty big pieces, so I will make half next time. Also, this is NOT a quick and easy recipe, so plan accordingly.

Love this recipe! I put minced garlic in with the butter before I melt it, then let it stand for at least 10 minutes before I start cooking the naan.
